Stacey Raina Speller was born, July 25th, 1990, in Brooklyn, New York and raised in the Bronx by two wonderful Puerto Rican parents who adopted her at the age of 3. Stacey started playing tennis at the age of 5 and used that as her ticket in earning a full athletic scholarship for Bethune-Cookman University's Division 1 Women's Tennis Team.

She graduated with a Biology degree in 2012, continued her Master's at B-CU and obtained a degree in Transformative Leadership in 2013. She worked for the Office of Admissions at B-CU for almost 3 years where she integrated initiatives that would increase the Latino/Hispanic population at B-CU. She was then promoted to be a Student Success Coach for the College of Undergraduate Studies where she advises freshmen and sophomore students majoring in STEM.

Outside of her 8-5, she is the Primary Advisor for a club on B-CU's campus called, the Hispanic Organization for Latin Awareness (H.O.L.A.), which she help start as a student in 2011. She is the co-chair for the Latino/Hispanic Ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Daytona Beach, FL. She started a social media platform called HBCUOrgullo that intends to bridge the gap between the Latino/Hispanic community and all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Stacey has a true passion and commitment to the Latino/Hispanic people and wants to be a pilot of change in educating, recruiting, retaining, graduating and connecting them to all HBCUs. When Stacey isn't doing any of the aforementioned things, she's being the best mommy she can be for her 7 and 4 year old.
